The Man who was Thursday
I have some more details about theTuesday night Old Queen’s Head quiz, listed in last week’s post. It starts at 8, with maximum six people in a team. Entry is £2 per head and all money goes into the jackpot. Some free shots are a feature, as is ‘kazoo-keoke’ (no, I don’t know either). Certainly sounds like they’re putting some effort into it at the Old Queen’s Head so I’d be interested to get a report.
Two charity quizzes run this week – see One Off Quizzes for details. The one I’ve added today is in aid of the North London Hospice and takes place on Thursday in the Maynard Arms, Crouch End.
Tuesday night used to be the peak night for quizzes, as it is or was renowned in the pub trade as a particularly slack night so pubs needed to boost takings. If the pattern of usage of QuizList is anything to go by, searches for ‘pub quiz London’ peak on a Thursday, with Monday having the second highest totals. Is this positively related to attendance at quizzes? Or does it mean that either side of the weekend people are more likely to look for something new to do? Who knows.
And who knows the answer to the 13-Questions challenge already? Here comes clue 2:
2. Contains a prison.
