D.B. Cooper
Tuesday quiz: Coopers Arms, 87 Flood Street, SW3 5TB, 020 7376 3120.
Here are some details from ‘Mrs Hayward’: The quiz started at 8 pm fairly promptly and was essentially finished by 10pm. There were nine teams, 40 questions (55 if you count the multiple part ones). There were no specific categories even for the pictures. The jackpot was £42 which rolls over to next week as no one got all 3 questions correct. The jackpot works by the QM giving 3 questions and 1 minute to get the paper to him with the answers on it. They brought around cheese covered nachos with 3 different sauces as a snack.
Elsewhere, I carry on bravely, deprived of computers on all fronts, but with light at the end of the tunnel (which, as most of you know, mainly signals a train coming). I will have at least one more new quiz next week. As for this week, it was pretty dismal with more impossible jackpot questions and ‘beecherings’ (a word which can mean many things, but has come to denote an inexplicable loss) in evidence. Mind you, I was only out once so the rest is hearsay, but can testify to three impossible jackpot questions. Let him have it, Chris.
Here’s clue 7 of the 13-question challenge. At 10 I will tell you something important about the questions and at 12 give you the number of letters in half of the answers. Remember, it’s a place name I’m looking for.
7. Minority European language.
