Bonnie and Albert

Looks like there’s some quiz activity in :

The Prince Albert, Royal College Street, Camden Town,  NW1 0QS, 020 7485 0270.

I’ve seen references to a Sunday night quiz there with an early-ish start and good prizes, but can’t find a reference to it on their website. However, there is mention of a wine tasting [and?] quiz on Monday 27 April.  I’ll try to get more details next time.

In general, Sunday night quizzes are a funny thing.  They’re either packed to the gills, showing a bias towards popular culture (the Tap/Tup chain) or small and elite (the Plough, Hornsey).  I can think of only a few which bridge the gap, one being the Narrowboat, Islington, popular with users of this site for a long time.

The Fun Boy Three visited the Oxford, Camden Town, on a Monday recently and found that the management have preserved most of the features of Pat’s old quiz:  ‘free economy sausage, beans and chips’, free entry, £15 cash prize and jackpot.  Pat, of course, now runs his own quiz in Sheephaven Bay.

If you are anywhere near N6, stand by for a keyboard being flung out a window – I am so sick of the accursed thing disconnecting that this is being typed by means of an onscreen keyboard, a recipe for RSI if ever I saw it.

And finally: vote for Bonnie, the quizzers’ dog:
