A Tale of Two Quizzes
My mistake. The two quizzes I mentioned last week weren’t both looking for contestants – one is the online quiz from More4, for which you might have seen quite a good ad on TV with Tony Robinson et al as a justifiably-hated ever-winning somewhat smug quiz team who resort to desperate measures. Some of you may have identified with that. Anyway, here’s the link: http://more4pubquiz.com/
The other one for which I was sent details is from ITV and apparently you are pitted against ‘one of the finest quiz brains in the country’. The mind boggles. Here is where you can e-mail for further details: thechase@itv.com.
Speaking of two quizzes, that was the number I attended this week. One was where I joined the Fun Boy Three at the end of a long league on its closing night, and I’m happy to say that was won with a good margin. I then brilliantly left the prize in a taxi, but it was retrieved. The other quiz didn’t have such stiff opposition and we lost that on a silly tie break, saw the jackpot go, and no-one believed my answer to a football question which turned out to be right. Don’t you just hate that; mind you, as I know nothing about football, having famously put on this site that Italy had won the world cup when in fact Germany had, or vice versa, there is no reason why anyone should believe me.
More news is that the Bailey (Highbury) won’t be taking place on Easter Monday but all other Eddie quizzes will be as normal. The Three Compasses (Hornsey) is likewise taking a couple of weeks’ break from Monday quizzes so give them a ring to check when these are restarting. And happy holiday to you all.
