…I must have played them all!’  Well, not quite, but my adapted lyrics herald the introduction of an article on Quiz Machines to the site.  It’s the observations just of me as a not very good quiz machine player, and I am happy to set right any inaccuracies if you point them out.

To the Victoria in Highgate last Thursday, where Dave has started his quiz.  It’s actually not bad, and we were gobsmacked to draw (and win on a tie-break) in the beer round, which was pictures (my pet hate).  We also won the quiz and the prizes are generous – the cash takings (not quite as high as you would think because if you are eating dinner in the Vic you get free entry to the quiz) and a notional ‘voucher’ for £40 worth of food and drink in the Vic, to be used within a week.  And we did learn that ‘yes’, ‘no’, and ‘goodbye’ are the only words that appear on a Ouija board…  So as the glass is now pointing to ‘goodbye’, au revoir till next week.
