I’m going away, and I have no idea whether I will have any access to computers, so it’s likely this won’t be updated before 26/27 April and that I won’t be able to reply to mail. Thanks for all your comments on the new site, which were good, and thanks again to Carl for the changes.

Let’s talk about picture rounds! My favourite thing (not). Weeds was a particularly uninteresting picture round we got last week (5/10), surpassed only by leaves a few weeks ago (5/12) and birds a previous week (can’t remember score, but it was low…). Was the QM a gardener in a previous life? No, in this one, actually.

However, all that is nothing compared to an experience a few months ago when we were presented with twelve Mister (Bastard) Men in colour. I think we may have scraped five of the answers together and put the same guess for the other seven (it was right in one instance). Imagine my surprise, as they say, when I went to a different quiz and was presented with the same little bastards, this time in black and white. Our score? Five. On the same sheet. Yes, that’s one less. Luckily, we all saw the funny side (I don’t think)…. No doubt they are lurking on the web somewhere ripe for download and I will encounter the bastards again.

No new quizzes to report this week; went past the Slug and Lettuce in Muswell Hill yesterday and the quiz sign seems to have been replaced by an notice about ‘Open Mic night’. Will keep you posted.
