QuizList

Notice the difference? Hard to miss…

First of all, a big thank you to Carl for making all the changes and providing the picture of London above. Some of you know that QuizList is, in essence, run by two people, with Carl having provided the technical know-how to set it up in the first place, doing loads in between, and now giving us this current version which I think looks great. I am the listings person only.

Here are some of the differences to be aware of:

• The first page is now in a blog-time form so posts will remain unless I delete them. I don’t know how far the archive will go back or if any of us will be around that long… The blog form is more useful because details of new quizzes and other announcements will stay accessible for a while.
• The quiz listings are now all in one on each page, so you don’t have to scroll down for a more detailed description of the quizzes I’m familiar with. If I have any details, they appear under the listing for the quiz.
• The listings are now searchable.  If you are looking for two or more words, put them in inverted commas (i.e. ‘Three Compasses’).   At some stage I might try to add the general area to the addresses (e.g. ‘Hornsey’, ‘Archway’) and searching within a particular area will be easier.
• The old e-mail address has now been closed down and please don’t mail me as I can’t access it. Mails aren’t being bounced back as yet so the odd one is probably going astray. I’m sure the spam-merchant who kept sending me messages in capitals about a fund of however many million in Africa will be disappointed.
• You can now mail through the link which appears and when I reply the new e-mail address will be revealed; however, the address won’t appear on the site.
• I will begin to build up links, images and details of quizzes outside London but for the moment I am just getting used to the new site and editing it! And the important thing is the listings which are a lot clearer and more accessible.
• As always, check a particular quiz is running before you set out… and let’s be careful out there, let’s do it to them before they do it to us!
